The Xunta classifies the Rodosa Collection Foundation as being of cultural interest

The Department of Presidency, Justice and Sports has classified the Rodosa Collection Foundation as being of cultural interest through the Order of September 18, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 184 on Monday, September 28, 2026, in section III, Other provisions, p. 50449. The resolution, signed by the regional minister Diego Calvo Pouso, also assigns the foundation to the protectorate of the Department of Culture, Language and Youth. The entity had requested the classification, the declaration of Galician interest, and registration in the Registry of Foundations of Galician Interest.

The regulation bases the decision on Article 34 of the Spanish Constitution, which recognizes the right to establish foundations for purposes of general interest, and Article 27.26 of the Statute of Autonomy of Galicia, which grants the autonomous community exclusive competence over the regime of foundations of Galician interest. The proceedings were processed in accordance with Law 12/2006, of December 1, on foundations of Galician interest, and Decree 14/2009, of January 21, which approves the Regulation of foundations of Galician interest. According to Article 7 of Decree 15/2009, of January 21, the Department of Presidency is responsible for the classification of the foundation and its assignment to the department that will exercise the functions of the protectorate.

A foundation for the legacy of Renault and Alpine

The foundation was established by Talleres Rodosa, S.L.U. through a public deed granted on July 9, 2026, before the Vigo notary Javier Fernández Rodríguez, under protocol number 2140. The deed includes the identity of the founders, the initial endowment, the statutes, and the identification of the board members. On July 13, 2026, the entity submitted the request for classification, declaration of Galician interest, and registration in the regional registry.

The foundational purpose, detailed in Article 6 of the statutes, encompasses:

• The conservation, research, documentation, restoration, and historical dissemination of vehicles, archives, industrial heritage, and the cultural legacy of the Renault and Alpine brands, in all their manifestations.

The foundation is domiciled at Avenida Pablo Iglesias, number 71, ground floor, 36391, in Priegue, Nigrán (Pontevedra).

The board and the regional protectorate

The initial board consists of:

• Talleres Rodosa, S.L.U., as president.
• Ana Belén Álvarez Almeida, as secretary.
• David Antonio Romero Pereira and Pablo Romero Pérez, as members.

The Commission of General Secretaries of all departments submitted to the Minister of Presidency the proposal for classification as being of cultural interest, in view of the subjects that constitute the foundational purpose. The proposal was approved at the commission meeting on September 15, 2026, three days before the signing of the order.

Deadlines and appeal process

The order concludes the administrative process, therefore, the following may be filed against it:

• Contentious-administrative appeal, within a period of two months, before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Galicia, pursuant to article 46.1 of Law 29/1998, of July 13.
• Appeal for reversal, on an optional basis and within a period of one month, before the same body that issued the act, in accordance with article 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1.

The classification as being of cultural interest is the step that allows the foundation to access the specific regime for foundations of Galician interest and its registration in the autonomous registry, in addition to falling under the guardianship of the protectorate of the Ministry of Culture, Language and Youth.
