The Xunta authorizes four electrical installations in three councils of A Coruña

The Territorial Department of A Coruña of the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Xunta de Galicia has granted, through four resolutions dated August 17, 2026, the prior administrative and construction authorization for four electrical distribution installations in the municipalities of Frades, Cerceda, and Ponteceso. The resolutions, signed by the territorial director Isidoro Martínez Arca, were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 159, on August 21, 2026.

The projects, promoted by the distributors Unión Distribuidores Electricidad, S.A. (UDESA) and UFD Distribución Electricidad, S.A., are part of the companies’ installation and service improvement plans and include both power increases for transformation centers as well as the construction of new lines and the replacement of damaged sections.

Power increases in Frades

In the municipality of Frades, two power increases for outdoor transformation centers are authorized. The first, corresponding to file IN407A 2026/177-1 (announcement 2026/5499), affects the Augasantas center, in San Xoan de Vitre, where a 100 kVA transformer at 15 kV/400-230 V will be installed. The second, file IN407A 2026/178-1 (announcement 2026/5488), in the place of Gasaya, parish of Abellá, provides for the removal of the existing 50 kVA transformer and the installation of a new 100 kVA one.

• Both files were not submitted for public information under article 50 of Law 9/2021, on administrative simplification in Galicia.

Line replacement in Cerceda

In Cerceda, file IN407A 2026/084-1 (announcement 2026/5489), promoted by UFD Distribución Electricidad, S.A., authorizes the project for the replacement of the medium voltage line LMT MEI808 on Emigrante Street. The actions respond to damage detected in the grounding and in the line itself.

• Replacement of the grounding at supports AB2758O1//52-1-CT and AB2DU85K//52.
• Replacement of a 59-meter section of underground medium voltage line (LMTS).
• Project signed by the electrical industrial technical engineer Victoriano González Lemos.

New infrastructure in Ponteceso

In Ponteceso, file IN407A 2026/073-1 (announcement 2026/5485), also from UFD Distribución Electricidad, S.A., authorizes the construction of a new infrastructure on Paseo Fluvial Street to meet a demand of 329.15 kW for use in buildings.

• Prefabricated transformation center of 250 kVA, remote-controlled, at 20 kV.
• Underground medium voltage line of 54 meters, connected to the existing LMTA CBA805 network.
• Underground low voltage line of 48 meters.
• Project signed by the electrical industrial technical engineer Begoña Muñoz Sotelino.

Deadlines and procedures

The four installations must be executed within a period of two years starting from the publication of the resolutions in the Official Gazette of Galicia. For commissioning, the promoters must provide the declarations of conformity of the material, the certificate from the assembly director, and the “as built” planimetry in Shape format. Against the resolutions, which are not final in administrative proceedings, an appeal for reversal may be filed before the Minister of Economy and Industry within one month.

These authorizations, which are granted without prejudice to others that may be applicable regarding land use planning and the environment, represent an improvement in the electricity supply and service quality for the residents of three municipalities in the interior and on the coast of A Coruña, both through the expansion of capacity and the renovation of aged or damaged infrastructure.
