A Xunta autoriza a Nedgia ampliar a rede de gas en Cambre

The Territorial Department of A Coruña, under the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Xunta de Galicia, authorized by resolution on September 9, 2026, the execution project for a gas distribution infrastructure in the municipality of Cambre (file IN627A 2026/001-1). The authorization allows Nedgia, S.A. to expand the existing gas network and install a new connection to provide supply to the facility of the industry Profand Cambre, S.L.U., located in the Espírito Santo Industrial Estate.

The resolution was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 175, on Monday, September 14, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5911, and was signed by the territorial director Isidoro Martínez Arca.

Background of the concession

The administrative concession for the conduction and supply of natural gas for industrial uses in the municipalities of Abegondo, Carral, Cambre, Culleredo, Arteixo, Oleiros, Sada, and A Coruña was originally granted to Enagás, S.A. by Order of 04.15.1996 of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Following successive spin-offs and asset transfers, ownership passed to Gas Natural SDG, S.A. and, finally, in 2018, to the current Nedgia, S.A., which operates as the distribution company.

The application was submitted on April 23, 2026, and the project was signed by the industrial chemical technical engineer Alejandra Risco Barba, collegiate member no. 25,430 of Madrid (COGITIM). The file was subject to public consultation in June 2026, with no objections presented, and the technical services issued a favorable report on September 7, 2026.

Technical characteristics of the installation

The action consists of the expansion of the existing gas network named RAA-I015.01 to meet the supply request of the industry Profand Cambre, S.L.U. The main characteristics are:

  • Natural gas network in 4" diameter steel, at MOP 16 bar, with a length of 164 meters, connected to the existing network RAA-I015.1.
  • Natural gas connection in DN 2" steel, at MOP 16 bar, with a length of 8 meters, whose final destination is the industry Profand Cambre, S.L.U.
  • Auxiliary installations: one DN 2" connection valve and one DN 4" sectioning valve.

Conditions and execution period

The authorization is granted without prejudice to third parties and independently of municipal licenses or other necessary permits. Before the start of the works, Nedgia, S.A. must communicate the planned dates and provide the designation of the authorized installation company and the project manager. Modifications during the execution phase may not exceed 20% of the projected layout without submitting the corresponding addendum.

The execution period for the installations is one year from the official publication of this resolution. Against the resolution, which is not final in administrative proceedings, an appeal for reversal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the Minister of Economy and Industry within one month.

Impact for local industry

The authorization represents a key step in providing a natural gas supply to the facility of Profand Cambre, S.L.U. in the Espírito Santo industrial estate, reinforcing the energy competitiveness of one of the municipality’s industrial areas. The expansion of the distribution network improves the connection capacity of the area and opens the door to future connections for other companies in the industrial estate.
