A Guarda opens the period for allegations to the 2026 municipal budget

The Guarda City Council initially approved the Budget and the Personnel Table for the 2026 financial year in an extraordinary session of the Plenary held on September 14, 2026. The announcement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) number 178, dated September 16, 2026, in the Local Administration section, opening a fifteen-day period for claims and allegations. The agreement was adopted in accordance with article 169 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, and article 20 of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20. The public exhibition of the file begins with the publication of the announcement and spans fifteen days, during which the file may be examined by any interested party.

In application of Law 19/2013, of December 9, on transparency, access to public information and good governance, the documentation of the initial approval file will be published on the municipal website www.aguarda.es, through the transparency portal of the council’s electronic office.

If no claim is presented, the General Budget and the Personnel Table will be considered definitively approved at the end of the period. Otherwise, the Plenary will have a period of one month to resolve them.

The framework of municipal accounts

The processing of the 2026 budget takes place while the council maintains the ordinary management of its accounts: on September 1, 2026, the BOPPO published the public exhibition and the voluntary collection period of the register for the market service tax for the third quarter, approved by resolution no. 2026-1304, of August 26, 2026.

At the provincial level, the Deputación de Pontevedra granted the Concello da Guarda a subsidy from the Extraordinary Plan Vía Depo for the investment “Intervention and renovation of the surface of municipal roads in A Guarda” (file 2026043861), according to the extracts of the Governing Board from September 11, 2026, published in the BOPPO no. 177, of September 15.

The opening of this period is the final step before the definitive approval of the 2026 accounts, which establishes the economic framework with which the council will face the coming financial year and opens the possibility for neighbors and entities to challenge specific items before the budget is closed.
