A Guarda abre axudas ao deporte con 12.600 euros para clubs locais

The A Guarda City Council announces grants on a competitive basis for sporting activities in the municipality during the 2026 financial year, with a total allocation of 12,600 euros. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) no. 178, dated September 16, 2026, in the Local Administration section, with the identifier BDNS 928797, and the application period is already underway.

The specific guidelines were approved under the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the extract of the call refers to the full text deposited in the National Grants Database. The document was signed in A Guarda on September 10, 2026, by the mayor, Roberto José Álvarez Carrero, and the amount is included in the council’s Strategic Grants Plan 2025-2027.

Object and lines of action

The call regulates the procedure for granting municipal aid respecting the principles of publicity, free competition, and equality, for activities of public utility and social interest linked to sports. The specific purposes that can be subsidized are:

  • The promotion of sports practice, especially among the youngest.
  • The organization of championships, tournaments, and sports schools.
  • Sports training and projects aimed at increasing the number of federated people in different modalities, in order to expand the sporting offer in the locality.
  • Collaboration with sports entities and clubs.
  • Actions of interest for the promotion of sports and sports practice in the municipality.

Beneficiaries, amount, and deadline

Associations, as well as natural or legal persons who submit the corresponding application in accordance with the provisions of the guidelines and the regulatory ordinance and who meet the required requirements, may obtain the status of beneficiaries. The grant line has a total amount of 12,600 euros.

The application period is 30 calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province, meaning it begins on September 17 and ends on October 16, 2026.

Justification of aid

Beneficiaries must justify the execution of the activities for which they requested the grant. The deadline for submitting the justification is set for November 16, 2026, according to the eighth guideline of the specific guidelines.

On the same date and for the same council, BOPPO no. 178 publishes two other lines of competitive aid: grants for cultural activities, endowed with 8,900 euros (BDNS 928824), and those for social activities, with 2,560 euros (BDNS 928835). All three share the same application period and justification deadline.

The call provides financial coverage for entities that support grassroots sports activities in A Guarda, from schools and tournaments to the training of new federated athletes, and arrives with a tight schedule: those wishing to apply for the funds have one month to submit the application and must have the activity executed and justified before November 16.
