The Provincial Council distributes nearly 60,000 euros among 21 festivals and cultural cycles

The Governing Board of the Deputación de Ourense has resolved the public tender for grants destined for festivals, cycles, exhibitions, and analogous activities for the 2026 financial year, distributing 59,999.17 euros among 21 cultural projects from across the province. The agreement, adopted in the ordinary session of August 17, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on August 25, 2026 (reference R. 2.049).

The bases of the call were published in the BOP no. 80, on April 30, 2026. The resolution, signed by president Luis Menor Pérez, closes the process with a total amount of 59,999.17 euros, distributed according to the technical assessment carried out on the documentation provided by the applicants.

A distribution of nearly 60,000 euros

The highest amount corresponds to Ton y Son Producciones Culturales, S.L.U., which receives 7,062.78 euros for the project V Nova – Camiño Valdeorras, the highest-scoring proposal with 35.00 points. Following them are Ouren Rock Sound Produccions, S.L. with 4,857.17 euros for Xuncrea and Asociación cultural Arteficial with 3,503.14 euros for the Festival Arteficial 2026 – 20th Edition.

Among the beneficiaries are city councils as well as associations and cultural companies:

• Concello de Ribadavia — I Festival de monicreques do Ribeiro (3,034.98 €)
• Neodans, S.C. — Festival Danza no Claustro Ourense 2026 (3,059.19 €)
• Asociación cultural Rebulir — XXI FIR – Festival Internacional Rebulir (3,263.00 €)
• Ribeira Sacra Cultural — VIII Fest Clásico Ribeira Sacra (3,301.34 €)
• Concello do Barco de Valdeorras — XIV Ciclo de Perto (2,395.29 €)
• Concello do Carballiño — 18th Edition Festival de Títeres (2,387.22 €)
• Concello de Xunqueira de Ambía — XXXVII Ciclo de Órgano e Música Antiga (1,874.66 €)

Exclusions: seven projects out of the call

The resolution excludes seven projects from the assessment for two different reasons. Three are left out for failing to comply with the first base, relating to the eligible object, as they are not performing arts or analogous activities:

• Asociación Xurés Xoven (Lobios) — X Xornadas Etnográficas do Ciclo do Pan
• Concello de Monterrei — Ciclos de Conferencias Monterrei: Historia e Literatura

Another four are excluded for failing to comply with the fifth base, by providing incomplete assessable documentation that prevents their technical assessment:

• Asociación cultural A Bela Auria (Ourense) — Festival Pedra
• Asociación cultural Aimil Folc (Xinzo de Limia) — XVI Festival de coros tradicionais Coralimia
• Asociación Orfeón do Carballiño — Festival de Habaneras 2026
• Concello de San Cibrao das Viñas — III Edition of the Festival As Viñas Fest

Appeals and deadlines

Appeals may be filed against the agreement. Private individuals may opt for an optional appeal for reversal (recurso potestativo de reposición) before the Governing Board within one month, or directly for a contentious-administrative appeal before the Provincial Contentious-Administrative Court within two months, provided that both avenues are not pursued simultaneously. Local entities may file a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Courts of Ourense, or submit a prior request for the annulment or revocation of the act. The deadlines are calculated from the day following the publication of the announcement.

The resolution consolidates provincial support for the cultural fabric, with an amount that reaches municipalities and entities throughout the province and rewards the continuity of established festivals such as the Festival Arteficial, in its twentieth edition, or the XLIII Galaico-Portuguese Festival of Carballiño.
