A Deputación de Pontevedra amplía o orzamento con 8 millóns extraordinarios

The Plenary of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra has definitively approved credit modification file number 7/2026, which incorporates extraordinary credits (EXT. 07/26) in the amount of 8,000,000.00 euros. The decision was made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) no. 201, on Monday, October 19, 2026, after the public exhibition process concluded without any claims. With the modification applied, the provincial institution’s budget amounts to 581,136,983.12 euros.

The initial approval took place during the Plenary meeting in an extraordinary session on September 11, 2026, as stated in the edict of the Provincial Council. The procedure was processed in accordance with articles 169 and 177.2 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law regulating local finances, and articles 20 and 38 of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20.

The file was open for public inspection for fifteen business days, a period during which interested parties could examine it and submit allegations. As no claims were registered, the modification is considered definitively approved, and the agreement becomes effective upon its publication in the provincial gazette.

Eight million in extraordinary credit

The core of the operation is the extraordinary credit EXT. 07/26, endowed with 8,000,000.00 euros. The edict does not detail in its text the specific projects or actions to which this amount is destined, although the full documentation of the file should be accessible on the provincial website.

A comparison with the last published distribution does allow for the effect of the operation to be located: the capital transfers chapter increases to 283,707,389.35 euros, exactly 8,000,000 euros more than in the previous budget distribution disseminated by the BOPPO.

This chapter carries the most weight in the provincial budget, ahead of real investments, which stand at 113,945,296.21 euros, and personnel expenses, at 59,105,169.65 euros.

Background and publication of the file

This is the second major modification of the provincial budget published so far this autumn. The previous one, file 6/2026, was initially approved in the Plenary on July 31, 2026, and was published as a final approval in the BOPPO no. 169, of September 3, 2026, with a consolidated total of 570,415,336.21 euros.

In application of articles 5.4 and 8 of Law 19/2013, of December 9, on transparency, access to public information and good governance, the documentation of file 7/2026 must be published on the official website of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra.

An administrative appeal may be filed against the final approval agreement before the Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Galicia within a period of two months counting from the day following its publication, in accordance with articles 10 and 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the administrative jurisdiction.

The edict is signed by the delegated deputy for Tax Management, Heritage, Training and Emergencies, Manuel Alejandro Lorenzo Alonso, whose delegation is stated in resolution R.P. nº 2025008021, of October 3, 2025, and by the acting secretary, Gabriel Rodríguez Alonso.

Impact for the municipalities

The relevance of the operation for readers lies in the weight of the transfers: more than 283.7 million euros of the provincial budget are capital transfers, which makes this modification a determining element for the municipalities and entities that receive funds from the Provincial Council of Pontevedra. Any adjustment in that chapter translates directly into the financing of local investments for the remainder of the 2026 financial year.
