The Deputación de Lugo provides 410,000 euros in subsidies to 35 social entities

The Provincial Council of Lugo has made public the direct, nominative, and exceptional grants processed by the Economic and Social Promotion area (Social Welfare Section) during the second quarter of 2026. The list totals 410,000 euros distributed among 35 entities, with a maximum amount of 40,000 euros for Cogami Lugo. The announcement appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 248, of October 29, 2026, under reference R. 2924.

The publication is made in compliance with Article 18 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants; Article 30 of Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which approves its regulation; and Article 11 of the General Ordinance on Grants of the Provincial Council of Lugo. The document was signed in Lugo on October 22, 2026, by the president, by delegation of the Decree of 14-01-2026, to the provincial deputy Pablo Rivera Capón.

All lines in the list are of a nominative type, with a single beneficiary identified by their CIF and a specific object or activity. Most of the contributions were charged to budget application 2314.48900, except for two cases (2312.48900), and the approving body recorded is the Presidency.

Mental health, brain injury and cerebral palsy

The block with the greatest economic weight is concentrated on care services for people with severe mental illness and brain injury, with programs for dependency prevention, psychosocial rehabilitation, and labor insertion:

• Saúde Mental Feafes (Federation of Associations of Relatives and People with Mental Illness of Galicia): 34,000 euros for labor intermediation and internships.
• Asoc. Alume Saúde Mental: 25,000 euros for dependency prevention in people with severe mental disorders in urban and rural environments.
• Asociación Saúde Mental, A Mariña (Burela): 15,000 euros for current expenses of the psychosocial and labor rehabilitation center.
• Asoc. de Persoas con Parálise Cerebral de Lugo: 12,000 euros for multisensory stimulation.
• Adace Lugo (acquired brain injury): 12,000 euros for the day center and hiring of a neuropsychologist.
• Fundación de Daño Cerebral: 10,000 euros for operating expenses.
• Capaces Lugo: 4,000 euros for aid and assistance to people with ASD.

Alzheimer’s, dependency and intellectual disability

Dementias maintain a stable presence in the list, with four Alzheimer’s entities provided with 12,000 euros each and a total of 48,000 euros:

• Asoc. de Familiares de Personas con Alzhéimer y Otras Demencias de Lugo: cognitive stimulation.
• AFA Viveiro: cognitive stimulation and maintenance for mild cognitive impairment.
• Asoc. de Fam. de Enf. de Alzhéimer de Chantada: direct care program.
• Asociación de Familiares de Enfermos de Alzhéimer e Outras Demencias: family respite center.

Regarding intellectual disability, the Galician Confederation of People with Disabilities stands out, with 35,000 euros for the Fingoi-Lugo therapeutic day care center, and the Down Syndrome Assoc., with 12,000 euros for personal autonomy in community housing. This is completed by Aspnais (5,000 euros, psychological intervention), ASPANANE of Viveiro (6,000 euros, support for leisure projects), Special Olympics Galicia (8,000 euros), and the Parent Association (Anpa) of the Santa María Special Education School of Lugo (12,000 euros, «Nós Tamén Xogamos» program).

Nutrition, chronicity and social support

The remaining grants cover entities for chronic diseases, proximity services, and groups at risk of exclusion. Among the highest amounts are the 23,000 euros for the hiring of an interpreter for the Assoc. of Deaf People of Lugo, the 22,000 from Raiolas-Lugo for intervention in natural contexts, and the 14,000 from the Nenos Ponte dos Santos Assoc. for the transport of minors.

• Asoc. Aliad-Ultreia: 13,000 euros («Preparados, Listos, Xa!» program).
• Lugo Food Bank Assoc.: 10,000 euros (purchase of eggs).
• Secretariado Gitano Foundation: 10,000 euros (Promociona program).
• Gypsy Promotion and Integration Assoc.: 10,000 euros (housing rehabilitation).
• Fadas Lugo (Federation of Social Sector Associations): 10,000 euros.
• Assoc. of Parents of Disabled Children of Mariña Lucense: 10,000 euros (outpatient service).
• Agora: 9,000 euros; Parkinson’s Assoc. Lugo and A Mariña Cogami: 7,000 euros each.
• Alcer Lugo: 6,000 euros; Galician Hemophilia Assoc. and Somos Unidos por el Cáncer: 5,000 euros each.
• Arela Asoc: 5,000 euros (family home in Monforte de Lemos).
• «Eu Son» Foundation: 3,000 euros; Fibromyalgia Assoc. of Lugo: 3,000 euros.

The publication of these amounts allows the associative movement of Lugo to know in detail the funding received and verify the amount assigned to each program. For the users of the services —people with disabilities, mental illness, dementia or cancer, and their families— the list represents the official confirmation of the economic support that sustains direct care activities, family respite, transport, job placement, and inclusive leisure during the fiscal year.
