The Deputación grants the X Begoña Caamaño Gender Equality Award

The Provincial Council of A Coruña has resolved the granting of the X Begoña Caamaño Prize for cultural action for gender equality 2026, endowed with two awards of 6,500 euros each. The decision was adopted by presidency resolution number 41098, dated September 23, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 186, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, under announcement number 2026/6247.

The prize was convened by the Culture, Equality and Civil Rights Service of the Provincial Council of A Coruña and reaches its tenth edition this year. The resolution, signed in A Coruña on September 23, 2026, by the acting president, Xosé Regueira Varela, and the secretary, Miguel Iglesias Martínez, approves the granting “in accordance with the decision of the jury,” according to the official text.

The announcement details the two recognized candidacies, corresponding to the modalities of entity trajectory and personal trajectory, with an identical amount in each case.

The two awards

• Association of Women with Disabilities of Galicia (NIF G70223417), in the entity trajectory modality, with 6,500.00 euros.
• Maria do Carme Adán Villamarín, in the personal trajectory modality, with 6,500.00 euros.

The total committed amount amounts to 13,000 euros, divided equally between the two winners.

Entity trajectory and personal trajectory

The entity trajectory modality recognizes the Association of Women with Disabilities of Galicia, an entity with its own legal personality and NIF G70223417, for its contribution to cultural action for gender equality.

The personal trajectory modality distinguishes Maria do Carme Adán Villamarín, whose NIF appears partially protected in the official announcement, in recognition of her individual trajectory in the same field.

A series of provincial prizes

The granting of the X Begoña Caamaño Prize is part of the habitual activity of the Culture, Equality and Civil Rights Service of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, which resolved other awards at the same dates:

With the publication in the BOP, the granting of the X Begoña Caamaño Prize is formalized and the two awards of 6,500 euros become effective for the winners. For the readers of the province, the announcement confirms the financial support of the Provincial Council of A Coruña for cultural and associative initiatives working towards gender equality, and allows the public to know by name and surname who receives a recognition that is now in its tenth edition.
