A Deputación concede 79.120 euros para 49 eventos deportivos en 2026

The Governing Board of the Provincial Council of Ourense has resolved the competition for the granting of subsidies to sports entities and non-profit entities for the organization of sporting events 2026, with 49 granted projects totaling 79,120 euros and fifteen denied applications. The agreement was adopted in the ordinary session of October 26, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on November 6, 2026, in section I, signed by the president Luis Menor Pérez (reference R. 2.597).

A competitive bidding process with 70 applications

The call is governed by a competitive bidding procedure in which a Valuation Commission scores the projects submitted by clubs, associations, and federations of the province. The resolution now published is the final one for the competition and includes, in addition to the grant, the inadmissibility, exclusion, and denial of the remaining requests.

Of the total applications registered, only 49 obtained funding. Individual amounts range from 390 euros for the project submitted by Club Deportivo Ourela to 4,080 euros for the Club de Amigos do Motociclismo A Peroxa, with a notable concentration of aid below 2,500 euros.

The beneficiary entities with the highest allocation are:

  • Club de Amigos do Motociclismo A Peroxa (G23868474): 4,080 euros for the Spanish Enduro Championship of Piñor.
  • Federación Gallega de Judo y Deportes asoc (G15109267): 3,714 euros for the Spanish Junior Super Cup XXII City of Ourense Trophy.
  • Federación de Salvamento e Socorrismo de Galicia (G27033737): 3,385 euros for the II Open and XXXII Galician Junior and Absolute Pool Championship.
  • Club Deportivo OPEN (G32321325): 3,262 euros for the 19th International Veterans Hockey Tournament.
  • Federación Galega de Hockey (G32172058): 3,197 euros for the Spanish Championship of Autonomous Regional Teams SUB21.

Fifteen projects left out for being below 35 points

The resolution expressly denies the subsidy to fifteen applications for not reaching the minimum score set by the Valuation Commission at 35 points. Among the affected entities are clubs with a regular presence in the provincial calendar and also some associations outside the strictly federative scope:

  • OUR-O (G19818970), for two orienteering events: the Galician Foot Sprint League and the fifth event of the Galician MTBO League.
  • Antela Fútbol Club (G32031643), for the Fútbol 11 Lethes Cup tournament, Ramón de la Fuente Memorial.
  • Club Balonmán Cidade das Burgas (G75927780), for the II Solidarity Christmas Tournament.
  • Club de Petanca de Petín (G23967482), for two projects: the Feria 1812 Petanque Tournament and the 2026 Harvest Tournament.
  • Club Voolarouco (G32478257), for the Galician Paragliding Precision Championship.
  • Asoc. Española Contra el Cáncer (G28197564), for the basketball game against cancer.
  • Asoc. Xadrez Ourensán Universitario (G32314213), for the XII Ourense International Chess Tournament.

Completing the list of denied requests are Escuela Deportiva Artai, Asoc. Veciños A Rábeda, Club Deportivo Ecuestre de Ourense, Club Deportivo Allariz, Asoc. Mulleres Rurais Entrenós, Asoc. Xuvenil Amencer and Club Deportivo Ecuestre de Ourense.

Two inadmissions and four exclusions from evaluation

The agreement also leaves out six other requests from the distribution for formal or procedural reasons. Two applications are not admitted for processing: that of Club Baloncesto Allariz, for the II Allariz 26 3x3 Championship, for being submitted past the deadline, and that of Club Hockey Barrocás, for the organization of the promotion phase to the men’s Division of Honor B, due to the entity’s withdrawal.

On the other hand, four projects are excluded from the evaluation:

  • Federación Gallega de Balonmano, for the Provincial Thermal Mini-Handball Tournament, as it has the same content as the Cidade das Burgas Handball Tournament submitted by the same entity.
  • Club Ciclista Terras de Celanova, for the Celanova Duathlon 2026, for failing to submit an expenditure and income budget.
  • Club Deportivo Córgomo Vilamartín, for the III Winter Way, for not carrying out the event.
  • Club Asaltamontes, for the VIII Asaltamontes Trail, for providing the evaluable documentation past the deadline in a non-amendable procedure.

More time to justify expenditure

Along with the granting resolution, the Provincial Council of Ourense agrees to extend the general deadline for the justification of the granted subsidies, provided for in the call bases, until November 30, 2026. The agreement will be published in the BOP and on the electronic headquarters of the Council for knowledge and effects.

An appeal for reversal may be filed against the resolution before the same body within one month or, alternatively, a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Ourense within two months, without both being compatible.

The decision affects the economic planning of the province’s sports entities, which closed the fiscal year relying on these grants: nearly fifty clubs, associations, and federations are now receiving funding that, in most cases, does not exceed two thousand euros per event, while fifteen projects will have to seek coverage through other means to balance their budgets.
