A Deputación abre tres prazas de residencia para deportistas federados da provincia

The Deputación de Ourense has opened a new call to fill three places for accommodation and maintenance on a full-board basis at the Florentino López Cuevillas youth residence during the 2026/2027 academic year. The decision was adopted by Presidency Decree no. 2026/15453, dated October 21, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on October 26, in the Provincial Council section. The deadline for submitting applications ends at 23:59 on November 12, 2026, and is non-extendable.

The call responds to a resulting vacancy. By Presidency Decree no. 2026/14112, dated September 29, 2026, the Deputación had selected two of the five planned places, based on the proposal of the Evaluation Commission, and the remaining three remained unfilled, as provided for in the third clause of the regulatory bases. It is now up to the provincial institution to select the three new beneficiaries.

The Florentino López Cuevillas residence is a facility owned by the autonomous community, and the athletes’ stay is funded by the autonomous administration. The framework of the call is the collaboration agreement signed between the Ministry of Culture, Language and Youth and the Provincial Council of Ourense for the use of the residence’s facilities and services and for the promotion of sports practice among youth, modified by the addendum of June 25, 2025.

Requirements: studies in the province and valid license

The bases require that applicants pursue official studies in educational centers within the province of Ourense and hold a valid federative license for the 2026/2027 season through clubs in the province. The application is not submitted by the athlete, but by the club:

  • It must be signed by the legal representative of the interested club and addressed to the Presidency of the Deputación.
  • Submission is electronic, through the general registry of the Deputación’s electronic office.
  • Each club may include up to three athletes in the Annex I form, with their names and ID (DNI).

Documentation and scoring scale

Along with the application, administrative documentation and evaluable documentation must be provided. The former can be amended within a period of up to ten business days; the latter, as it involves a competitive process, does not allow for amendments.

  • Administrative documentation: application form, ID (DNI) of the signatory, tax ID (NIF) of the club, and certification accrediting the position of president.
  • Valuable documentation: certification of the club’s competitive category, justificatory report of the need for accommodation and maintenance, and copies of current federative licenses.
  • Competitive category of the club: up to 5 points, according to the territorial scope of the competition (national, national-zonal-sectorial, autonomous, autonomous-zonal-sectorial, or provincial).
  • Justificatory report: up to 2.5 points.
  • Preference will be given to the first application from each club; subsequent applications will only be considered if the three places are not filled by three different clubs.

Valuation and resolution commission

The Valuation Commission is chaired by the delegated deputy for Culture, Education, and Sport. The general secretary, the head of the Competitions Office, and the head of the Sports Service act as members, and the head of the Grants Section acts as secretary, all with the possibility of regulatory substitution and subject to the duties of abstention.

The Presidency of the Deputación must resolve within a maximum period of one month from the end of the amendment period or, if there is no amendment, from the end of the submission period. The lack of an express resolution within this period has a dismissive effect. The resolution will be communicated to the Department of Culture, Language, and Youth and to the applicant clubs.

Those selected must deposit a monthly fee as a reservation, just like the rest of the residents and scholarship holders of the youth residences dependent on the department, an amount that will be returned to them at the end of the stay. The announcement bears the signature of the president of the Deputación, Luis Menor Pérez, and is reported to the Plenary in the following ordinary session.

The call is a direct opportunity for clubs in the province that compete in high categories and have athletes displaced from their municipalities: the place covers accommodation and full board in a course in which only two of the five initially planned places were filled.
