Por FactBox Admin

The Ministry of the Sea has arranged for the renewal of Diego Calvo Pouso as a member representing the Autonomous Community of Galicia on the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of A Coruña. The decision was formalized through the Order of September 9, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) number 177, dated September 17, 2026, in section II, Authorities and personnel, heading B) Appointments, page 49067. The provision carries the official reference jxyhpte7-bmm2-fjh1-bs32-zyzlc2pemo00.
A competence of the Autonomous Community
The renewal is based on the revised text of the State Ports and Merchant Marine Law, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2011, of September 5. Article 30 of this regulation grants autonomous communities the powers to appoint and remove members of the boards of directors of state-interest port authorities located within their territory.
The law requires that these appointments be made upon the proposal of the public administrations, bodies, and entities that the members represent. In the case of the Port Authority of A Coruña, the renewed position corresponds to the representation of the Xunta de Galicia in the port’s governing body.
The exercise of this competence is attributed to the head of the ministry competent in port matters, by virtue of the Agreement of the Council of the Xunta de Galicia of September 16, 2010, which grants this power. The order is therefore registered within the framework of autonomous competencies regarding qualified ports of general state interest.
