Por FactBox Admin

A Agacal concede 201.143,81 euros a explotacións inscritas en réximes de calidade

The Galician Agency for Food Quality (Agacal) is granting 201,143.81 euros in aid to agricultural holdings registered in differentiated quality schemes, with a limit of 3,000 euros per year per holding. The Resolution of October 7, 2026, signed by the director of the organization, Martín Alemparte Vidal, publishes the lists of beneficiaries in the Official Gazette of Galicia number 198, of October 19, 2026, section III (reference CVE-DOG: uwzpnhh7-b7m8-u2w1-rde4-3z3iymdn3ya7).

The call stems from the Resolution of April 15, 2026 of Agacal, published in DOG no. 76 on April 24, within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 and cooperation intervention 7.1.3.1 to promote the participation of farmers in quality schemes for agricultural and food products, co-financed with EAFRD funds. The guidelines establish competitive bidding and subsidize the fixed costs of registration in the scheme, the annual participation fee, and the controls necessary to verify compliance with the requirements.

The expenditure is charged to application 15.A2.713D.770.01, with an allocation of 240,000 euros, of which this resolution assigns 201,143.81 euros. The aid covers 100% of the eligible expenses incurred and charged to the annual campaign between May 1, 2025, and April 30, 2026, without exceeding 3,000 euros per year per holding in any case.

Five quality schemes in the lists

Annex I lists the beneficiaries alphabetically and groups them by the quality scheme in which they participate:

  • PGI Ternera Gallega, managed by the Regulatory Council of Protected Geographical Indications for Beef of Galicia.
  • PGI Vaca Gallega/Buey Gallego, from the same regulatory council.
  • Organic farming, through the Regulatory Council of Organic Farming of Galicia.
  • PGI Mel de Galicia, DO Ribeiro, and DO Monterrei, grouped in a joint list of producers.

From the 3,000 euro cap to grants of 60 euros

Most of the approved subsidies are for small amounts, although several holdings reach the maximum limit due to having higher expenses:

  • Cool Farms Regenerative, S.L. (file AE-MR362A-000194-26): requested 4,913.22 euros and receives 3,000.
  • Apícola del Noroeste, S.L.U. (file MG-MR362A-000024-26): requested 3,527.12 euros and receives 3,000.
  • Violeta Mel, Titularidade Compartida de Explotación Agraria (file MG-MR362A-000011-26): 1,573.77 euros.
  • Varela Díaz, José Manuel (file TG-MR362A-000191-26): 1,360 euros.
  • Vilaberries Agro, Sociedad Limitada (file AE-MR362A-000124-26): 1,030.77 euros.
  • Carral González, Lucía (file AE-MR362A-000241-26): 946.44 euros.
  • Yáñez Furelos, María del Carmen (file AE-MR362A-000089-26): 884.80 euros.

At the opposite extreme, the lowest grants are around 60 euros per holding, an amount repeated for a large part of the beef cattle and honey producers.

Deadlines for payment and appeal process

The resolution conditions payment on the beneficiaries fulfilling two obligations:

  • Paying the control, registration, or participation fee in the corresponding quality scheme before October 31, 2026.
  • Presenting the supporting documentation by November 20, 2026, including the payment request from annex VI of the call resolution and the invoices or documents of equivalent evidentiary value, with a numbered list and proof of payment.

Against the resolution, which does not exhaust the administrative route, an appeal for reversal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the president of Agacal within one month from the day following its publication.

Denied and inadmissible applications

Annex II lists the denied applications, mostly for failing to comply with article 3.1 of the call resolution, although articles 4.2 and 4.3 are also invoked. Among those of the highest amount are Gen Martínez, Iván (file TG-MR362A-000412-26, 7,798.10 euros), Blanco Gómez, Daniel (TG-MR362A-000132-26, 1,528.60 euros), González Pena, Bernardino (AE-MR362A-000053-26, 1,028.21 euros), Fernández García, Daniel (M-MR362A-000002-26, 978.88 euros) and Quinta do Buble, S.L. (M-MR362A-000001-26, 581.14 euros). Additionally, one application was ruled inadmissible for processing, that of Valcarce Cela, Iván (AE-MR362A-000236-26), for lacking the minimum information for its processing.

The publication of these grants allows the Galician agri-food sector to know in detail the distribution of public funds intended to compensate for the cost of certification under quality seals, a usual previous step to access markets of higher added value and to consolidate the denominations of origin and protected geographical indications of the community.
