The Galician Academy of Public Security announces eleven inspector positions

The Galician Academy of Public Security announces eleven positions for inspector of the Local Police of Galicia, nine through internal promotion and two through mobility, distributed among the municipalities of Vigo, Santiago de Compostela, Ferrol, Vilagarcía de Arousa, and Teo. The call is made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) number 192, dated October 6, 2026, by means of the Resolution of September 2, 2026, from the General Directorate of the Galician Academy of Public Security (reference 2026071649). The process affects the executive scale, inspector category, of the Local Police bodies of Galicia.

With that modification, the number and characteristics of the positions were fixed at eleven, as stated in the announcement published in the provincial gazette.

Distribution of positions by municipality

• Vigo: three positions via internal promotion and one via mobility.
• Santiago de Compostela: three positions via internal promotion.
• Ferrol: two positions via internal promotion.
• Vilagarcía de Arousa: one position via internal promotion.
• Teo: one position via mobility.

In total, the process reserves nine positions for the internal promotion system and two for provision via mobility, totaling eleven inspector posts in the executive scale of the Galician local bodies. Most of the positions are concentrated in the large municipalities of the province and its metropolitan area, while mobility limits its offer to Vigo and Teo.

Deadline and submission of applications

The deadline for submitting applications will be twenty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement of the Call Order and the Order of its modification in the Official State Gazette. Successive announcements referring to this call will be made public in accordance with the bases approved in the Order of August 11, 2026.
