375,453 euros for electric mobility: 182 beneficiaries

The Regional Ministry of Enterprise, Self-Employment and Energy has published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) No. 101, of 13 August 2026, the provisional proposal for a resolution that provides for granting €375,453.08 in electric mobility aid to 182 beneficiaries (document No. 8167). The same issue of the gazette includes the final resolution (No. 8149) awarding €5,367.26 to one beneficiary of the MOVES III programme.

The aid derives from the public call for grants for actions supporting electric mobility (programme MOVES III 2025), approved by the Resolution of the Regional Minister of Enterprise, Employment and Energy of 1 July 2025 (BOIB No. 85, of 3 July 2025). The funding comes from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, channelled through the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union-NextGenerationEU.

The proposal, electronically signed on 11 August 2026 by the Director-General for Circular Economy, Energy Transition and Climate Change, Diego Viu Domínguez, comes after the technical services of the directorate-general issued favourable reports on the status of the beneficiaries, the documentation provided and compliance with tax and Social Security obligations.

A list of 182 case files for €375,453

The annex to the proposal details 182 case files for a total amount of €375,453.08, which are proposed to be authorised and allocated against budget item 2026/G/731A01/78000/00/19701/25183. Most of the actions correspond to programme 2, for the implementation of recharging infrastructure for electric vehicles (7.4 kW, 22 kW and high-power points), and the list also includes actions from programme 1, for the acquisition of vehicles.

Among the beneficiaries are individuals and companies, such as Medori Electricidad, S.L., El Zagal Tradición, S.A. Unipersonal, Sambar Insular S.L. or Charging Together SL, which holds the largest grant on the list: €103,617.69 for three 400 kW charging points, with a declared investment of €626,887.04.

Deadlines for investing and justifying

The proposal sets out the implementation schedule, with the common deadline of 31 December 2026:

• Beneficiaries under paragraphs a), b), c) and f) of the call: investments between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2026.
• Small and medium-sized enterprises under programme 2 subject to the de minimis regime of Regulation (EU) 2023/2831: the same period.
• Other beneficiaries under paragraphs d), e) and g): from the date of submission of the application until 31 December 2026.

The justification of the actions may not go beyond 31 December 2026, and the subsidized vehicle must be listed in the IDAE’s database of eligible vehicles. Interested parties may submit objections within ten business days from the day after publication; once this period has elapsed without opposition, they are understood to accept the proposal.

A definitive resolution for the original program

The same BOIB publishes the resolution of the Minister for Enterprise, Self-Employment and Energy, on the definitive proposal of the Director General, granting €5,367.26 to Mateu Mairata Alemany (file MOVESIII-9055/2021) for an electric Tesla Model Y and a 7.4 kW charging point, with an investment of €43,957.15 and file 20472/2026. Since the original call, approved on 28 June 2021 (BOIB No. 88, of 3 July 2021), does not provide for the 2026 financial year, the procedure has been carried out through file CONCA. The beneficiary communicated his agreement with the provisional proposal, published in BOIB No. 94, of 28 July 2026, in a document dated 30 July 2026.

Impact for readers

With this batch of grants, the Government of the Balearic Islands consolidates the deployment of the MOVES III program in the archipelago, one of the main instruments of the NextGenerationEU funds to decarbonise transport. For the 182 beneficiaries, the proposal translates into funding ranging from just over €600 to over €100,000 per file, which they must justify before the end of 2026.
