Por FactBox Admin

The Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana publishes this November 6, 2026, the resolution of October 6 assigning the specific line of the Municipal Cooperation Fund for Tourist Municipalities corresponding to the 2026 financial year. The distribution amounts to 3,499,994.80 euros among 85 city councils of the Comunitat Valenciana, compared to a maximum authorized global amount of 3,500,000 euros. The text appears in the DOGV no. 10488 of November 6, 2026, with official reference DOGV-C-2026-34628, within the administrative acts of the Second Vice-Presidency and Department of the Presidency.
An unconditional fund compatible with other lines
The specific line is regulated by Decree 142/2020, of September 25, of the Consell, which assigns it an unconditional and non-earmarked nature: the contributions are transfers intended to globally finance the activities and services that city councils provide within the scope of their competencies. These grants are complementary to and compatible with the general line of the Municipal Cooperation Fund and the specific line for the Fight against Depopulation.
Beneficiaries are municipalities that comply with Article 4 of Law 5/2021, of November 5, and that also have recognized status as a tourist municipality in any of its categories according to Law 15/2018, of June 7, on tourism, leisure and hospitality, and Decree 5/2020, of January 10, of the Consell. They must maintain this recognition on the day the award proposal is issued.
The amount is paid from the Turisme Comunitat Valenciana budget for 2026, line “Tourist municipalities cooperation fund” T0085, chapter IV, subprogram 332.
Three distribution rules and population coefficients
The distribution follows Article 6.2 of Decree 142/2020:
- A fixed amount for each recognized tourist municipality, with a cap of 50% of the line’s amount.
- Up to 40% for municipalities with beaches, coastal or continental, based on the kilometers of beach in the Beach Catalog approved by Decree 58/2018, of May 4.
- The remainder, for municipalities of relevance and excellence, according to the number of places in regulated accommodations registered as of January 1 in the Tourism Registry of the Comunitat Valenciana.
These places are weighted with correction coefficients by population bracket:
- From 1 to 500 inhabitants: 4.50
- From 501 to 1,000: 3.50
- From 1,001 to 2,000: 3.00
- From 2,001 to 5,000: 2.00
- From 5,001 to 20,000: 1.00
- From 20,001 to 50,000: 0.90
- From 50,001 to 100,000: 0.80
- More than 100,000: 0.75

- Santa Pola: 103,679.94 euros
- Oropesa del Mar/Orpesa: 97,571.54 euros
- Orihuela: 96,101.55 euros
- Gandia: 88,949.56 euros
- el Campello: 87,634.94 euros
- Alcalà de Xivert: 85,339.12 euros
At the opposite end, 28 municipalities receive the fixed amount of 10,294.12 euros, including Biar, Busot, Relleu, Ares del Maestrat, Cinctorres, Culla, Forcall, Ademuz, Ayora, Buñol, Enguera and Olocau. By province, Alicante groups around 1.77 million, Castellón about 0.92 million and València nearly 0.80 million.
Processing and single payment conditioned on the Sindicatura de Comptes
The Monitoring Commission of the Municipal Cooperation Fund of the Comunitat Valenciana learned of the proposal in its session on July 28, 2026. The award proposal was issued on August 14, 2026 by the president of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and counselor of Industry, Tourism, Innovation and Commerce; the resolution corresponds to the department competent in local administration and is signed by Carlos Gil Santiago, regional secretary of Institutional Policy and Territorial Cohesion, by delegation (resolution of April 11, 2026, DOGV 10342, of April 15).
Payment will be made in a single payment of 100% of the assigned amount, once it has been verified that the entity has submitted the general account to the Sindicatura de Comptes de la Comunitat Valenciana. Municipalities must also provide the information requested by the Sindicatura and the Generalitat. Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Comunitat Valenciana within two months.
The distribution arrives with the fiscal year nearly closed and provides tourist municipalities with an injection of non-earmarked liquidity that they can freely apply to their services, from beach cleaning to security or promotion. For small municipalities recognized as tourist destinations, the fixed amount of 10,294.12 euros represents a relevant part of their current expenditure margin, while the large coastal destinations concentrate volumes exceeding one hundred thousand euros.
